About The Opportunity

This role holds responsibility for the technical setup and control of Fokker Elmo’s manufacturing system in the FE-IN factory. The Production Technical Support Engineer ensures the manufacturing process is performed as defined by Fokker Elmo’s procedures and instructions, and supports the manufacturing team as a trouble shoot and coach when production / technical issues occur

This role is for a new GKN Fokker Elmo Plant to be set up in the Phulgaon area of Pune. GKN Fokker Elmo designs and manufactures wire harnesses for the Aerospace and defense sector. This will be a key role during the set up and further development of the plant. Substantial growth of the plant is expected in the first three years. Growth towards leadership and management positions is envisaged for key startup personnel

Key Responsibilities

The Production Technical Support Engineer is responsible for the following:

  • That the execution of the ME work is performed within the ELMO standards

  • Efficiency and quality of all applicable manufacturing processes

  • Clear communication within his team and towards his client

  • Production delays related to the ME processes

  • To implement prescribed functional changes, in the ME process

  • All technical issues related to the ME & Production processes

  • Assessments of employees of his assigned team

  • Improvement regarding the Manufacturing & Production process, of methods and techniques

  • Document control & distribution

  • Configuration Management

  • Validation & Verification processes for Tooling & Equipment

  • Maintenance storage and calibration for Tooling & Equipment

  • Software for Equipment

  • Complaints and product deviations on a technical level and to make decisions

Qualification and Skills

Formal Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Five years experience in Manufacturing and/or Manufacturing Engineering role

Desirable

  • Has experience in Manufacturing Engineering

Specific Functional Competencies, Knowledge and Skills Required

Essential

  • Capable of managing a team of 1 up to maximum 3 engineers during the set up phase of the ME organisation

  • Proposing ideas and suggestions for improvement of activities

  • Coordinating and solving problems during technical execution of production

  • Showing leadership in his team

  • Has a technical background

  • Graduated in a technical field

Soft competences:

-Planning & organizing: ability to prioritize and plan his goals within the daily work

-Strong communicator: ability to communicate clearly regarding technical content and understanding

-Quality awareness: accuracy in daily work, ability to self reflection – evaluate and improve

-Independancy: having discipline & task maturity – without outside control Desirable

Preferably has experience in the Automotive or

Aerospace industry Experience

Language Skills (Highlight if Essential or Desired)

Essential:Speak & write in English

Travel Requirements

Able to travel abroad for training or support. Initially for three months with intermediate trips home
