About The Opportunity

The Joint Venture NATO Helicopter Industries (NHI) consisting of GKN Fokker Aerostructures B.V., Airbus Helicopter France and Germany, and Leonardo Helicopters develops and builds the NH90 helicopter. This helicopter is built in 6 final assembly lines. GKN Fokker designs and builds components for the NH90 helicopter (tail, intermediate gearbox, cabin sliding doors, pintle axle, landing gear and the sponsons).

The aim of Configuration Management is to provide a business process infrastructure that assures that all design, manufacturing, certification and sustaining activities can be reliably executed in such a way that traceability and compliancy between the actual status of a product and its requirements are assured at any point in time during each phase of the lifecycle.

You start working on the NH90 program as a NH90 Configuration Controller with the target to develop in 1-2 years towards NH90 Configuration Specialist.

You will report to the Configuration Management manager.

Key Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

As a Configuration Controller, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the change data and compiling the configuration data sheets of other subcontractors then GKN Fokker Aerostructures B.V.;

  • Checking of Configuration Controller tasks executed by sub-contractors;

  • Providing CM data as agreed between FK-NH90 and Subcontractor to FK-NH90 ;

  • Maintaining meta data in ECPDM and compiling program internal configuration item datasheets Controlling the release of metadata into the Subcontractors PDM tool;

  • Compiling the Engineering Change Proposal after approval of the change request;

  • Administrative Closure of the ECP after closure by Change Control Board.

As a NH90 Configuration Specialist, you are responsible for:

  • The correct execution of the configuration management process;

  • As a specialist, you will participate in technical meetings and ensure that all activities are performed within the CM rules and processes as laid down in the Military Design Organization Manual and configuration management standards.

In addition to that:

  • Processing of Class 2 Changes within FK-NH90 and the interfaces with Partner Companies (PC’s), NHI, and Subcontractors;

  • The status of the Industry Changes as authorized by the international change boards;

  • Interfacing of FK-NH90 with the Subcontractors with regard to operation of Configuration Management;

  • Assuring continuous improvement of the Change Process including Status Accounting;

  • Monitoring implementation of changes after approval of the ECP by the CRB;

  • Approval of the As Designed configuration item tree.

Your skills are:

  • Bachelor degree in Aerospace or relevant level of education;

  • At least 4 years of aerospace working experience;

  • People management skills;

  • Experience within international & military environment is an advantage;

  • Project Management skills;

  • Followed CM2 course 1-4 (Ipx) or willing to attend the course;

  • Good communicative and administrative skills;

  • At minimum good level of written and verbal Dutch and English.
