About The Opportunity

Under moderate supervision, performs a variety of

functions to provide planning and coordination involved in the material

distribution and transportation flow of all goods and services that support the

Company's operations by ensuring materials, supplies, tools, production setups,

and finished goods are in place to meet or exceed internal and external

Customer's expectations. Work with

various departments to develop and implement production and delivery

schedules. May also serve in functions

that involve stores/receiving, shipping, returned/finished goods, and inventory

analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Principal

Accountabilities

1) Provide

material control services that include the accurate and efficient processing of

paperwork, data entry, order picking, delivery, record keeping, and counting of

materials, supplies, tools, and finished goods; provide support for packaging

and shipping of material to internal and external customers.

2) Apply intermediate personal computer

functions to access production control and material data systems to assist in

the development and implementation of shipping and delivery schedules, tool

control schedules, manufacturing setup schedules, and production schedules.

3) Work with various departments to

prioritize work orders and manufacturing or tool

set-up tasks in an assigned production

cell. Assist supervision and workforce

in the

resolution of work order or shop supply

discrepancies, problems and/or concerns.

4) Transport parts, materials, supplies,

tools, and production setups by hand or with

mechanical devices, such as a tow motors

or forklifts.

5) Mentors/provides guidance to junior Material

Handlers.

6) Maintains clean work environment

(including assigned storage and cleaning duties)

in full compliance with company

standards, customer and government regulations.

7) Assists in the development and maintenance

of a business culture, which supports

the Company's overall business objectives

and goals, by providing leadership in

issues that involve “cost, quality,

process, schedule and people”.

8) Ensures the company's commitment to maintain

a safe workplace and to protect the

environment through the establishment and

support of Company policy and

adherence to various government

regulations.

9) Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace,

Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with

the United States Government" in

all areas of responsibility involving direct and

indirect contracting with the United

States Government. Ensure subordinate

staff is

aware of the policy and their individual

responsibility and accountability for

complying with it.

10) Performs other

duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Education

High

School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience & Qualifications

Requires a minimum of one year related experience.

Requires intermediate computer skills, basic math skills to include data and

report analysis. Must have ability to

attain overhead and/or mobile crane and forklift certification. Must have a

valid California

drivers license (CDL). Demonstrate, among co-workers and with management, a

high level of initiative, teamwork, and problem solving skills. Organize

assigned workplace and activities in a flexible manner, to ensure the

completion of assignments under frequently changing priorities. Must be willing to

work in a repetitive production environment with concern for meeting cost,

quality and schedule requirements. The ability to work as a team player as well

as independently is required.
