Job Summary

Schedules and assigns Maintenance activities for all production crew basis at PA Small Segment sites. Prioritizes emergency work. Monitors the daily activities to ensure time schedules are met, Quality work is being performed, and safe working conditions exist. Maintains and updates records as required to docuent compliance with safety standards. Coordinates the preventative maintenance program.

This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager - PAS.

Minimum Qualifications:


person in this position shall posses maintenance training comparable to

Journeyman level with 2-3 years of supervisory training. Sound knowledge of a

wide range of Maintenance areas needed, including but not limited to

electrical, fabrication, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, etc. Good

communications skills, leadership qualities and ability to motivate employees

are necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  1. Schedules and assigns Maintenance personnel on production crews in the area of emergency, preventive, project, scheduled maintenance work for all departments. Prioritizes emergency work according to the needs of the Production departments. Supervises Maintenance Personnel, monitors quality, quantity, and safety of work. Records problems, delays, and reasons. Communicates with all department supervision. Conducts crew checks and ensures that personnel are working according to schedule for PA Small Segment Sites.

  2. Troubleshoots emergency problems, collects facts, analyzes, initiates corrective action on breakdowns. Reacts to emergency situations and routine accordingly. Sets priorities. Consults with Engineering.

  3. Requisitions equipment repair parts and materials in-house with the Machine Shop. Requisitions equipment repair parts and materials occasionally through direct contact with vendors or Purchasing department.

  4. Assures that department is adequately staffed for company needs. Continually trains and instructs Maintenance personnel in all applicable aspects of their jobs.

  5. Attends Foremen’s meeting with Supervisor. Discusses work efficiency, problems, improvements, solutions, etc. Conducts safety meetings for all shifts.

  6. Schedules and coordinates preventive maintenance work with Logistics for Molding and Sizing presses.

  7. Reviews preventive maintenance logs as scheduled.

  8. Initiates or recommends equipment design changes on Molding and Sizing presses.

  9. Conducts performance appraisals for Maintenance employees and takes actions needed. Performs employee relation’s functions, including vacation requests, coaching, disciplinary action, commendations, policy interpretation, etc. Conducts accident investigations and completes accident reports.

  10. Coordinates in-house repair work, warranty work and design changes (retro fit packages) through and with equipment manufacturer.

  11. Performs miscellaneous related duties as directed or requested.

  12. Directly supervises cleaners, building tradesman, maintenance mechanics and electricians.

  13. Enters Kronos system and updates it accordingly, including vacation, sick days, etc.

  14. Approves Kronos time cards for direct reports.

  15. Updates and completes Softscape system as required.

  16. Follow departmental procedures and work instructions.
